If you’re arriving by public transport, make sure you reach Gampola city first.
From Gampola, it’s just a quick 20-minute Tuk Tuk ride to cover the 5.6 kilometers (3.5 miles) to the entrance gates of Ambuluwawa Tower where you can buy your tickets.
The entrance fee to Ambuluwawa Temple is 2000 LKR (6 USD) for foreign adults and 1000 LKR (3 USD) for children. Please note that you can’t pay for the entrance ticket by bank card, so ensure you have enough local currency.
Once you have obtained the tickets, there are tuk-tuks available to take you to the Ambuluwawa Tower.
If you arrive around 8:30 AM, you can easily maximize your time and beat the crowds.
The climb involves many narrow steps and uneven terrain. Good walking shoes or sandals are essential.
The tower can get crowded, especially during peak season. Be mindful of other climbers and give way to those coming down.
The panoramic vistas from the top are breathtaking. Don’t forget to bring your camera or phone to capture the moment.
The climb can be difficult with bulky backpacks or bags. Leave them at the bottom or bring a small, lightweight bag for essentials.
Monkeys are notorious for snatching food from visitors. Avoid eating near the tower to prevent unwanted encounters.
Please dispose of your trash properly. Help keep the tower and its surroundings clean.
